The Indianapolis Board of Directors recently approved an amended version of the Health Care and Life Sciences Section Bylaws at its April meeting. The bylaws were updated to reflect the section's widened scope as it changed from the Health Care Section to the Health Care and Life Sciences Section in 2013. Click here to view the bylaws.

Recent growth in the Indiana life sciences industry provided the group with an ideal opportunity for expanding its focus to include complementary legal issues of interest to practitioners in the life sciences. A natural nexus exists between the health care and life sciences sectors in Indiana. Whereas one focuses on the delivery of health care and the other focuses on the development of new medical technologies, attorneys in both sectors share common interests in regulatory law, business transactions and intellectual property.

“We’re confident that this rebranding will help us to broaden our scope in terms of programs and resources offered to section members, and that we’re hopeful that we will welcome new members to the section as a result of our expanded offerings,” says Colleen Powers, of Hall Render Killian Heath & Lyman PC and 2013 chair of the section.
