The Medicare Access & CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 or “MACRA” represents a significant shift in healthcare reimbursement and CMS’ continued commitment to quality based reimbursement. While CMS has only released the Proposed Rule for MACRA, CMS anticipates publishing the Final Rule by November 1st of this year. This is important because MACRA will “go-live” in 2017. While we are waiting on the Final Rule, CMS has published additional information guiding practitioners as to when MACRA reporting begins.
