Earlier this week, the United States Supreme Court heard 85 minutes of arguments relating to a second major challenge to the Affordable Care Act. Were the Court to rule in favor of the petitioners, it would serve a debilitating blow to this signature piece of legislature. The specific legal issue being considered by the Court is whether "established by the state" has been correctly interpreted by the administration to allow subsidies to be available nationwide. A decision can be expected later this year and will have a major impact on the universal healthcare law. More information can be found here.
