The IndyBar Green Legal Initiative
To encourage Indy legal professionals to go green, the Green Legal Initiative has been developed by the Go Green Committee. This initiative encourages legal businesses, including law practices, legal departments, courts, agencies, legal support services and other members of the community to commit and engage in environmentally responsible business operation.
Green Business Practice Certification Instructions:
Certification is not required for membership, but entities certifying entities to be elevated Green Legal Status and may qualify a certifying entity for special recognition for outstanding achievement.
Certifying entities must be existing Green Legal Initiative Members or applying for membership concurrently with their Certification to be eligible for elevated Green Legal status.
Certification of compliance with a suggested practice earns a Member one or more points toward elevated Green Legal status for the Certification Year (September 1- August 31).

Members may write-in one (1) additional green business practice not already listed in each category as well as a suggested point value for each write-in practice and receive a maximum of six (6) points per Certification for certifying compliance with write-in practices. Write-in practices and suggested point values are subject to review and approval by the Go Green Committee.
Compliance with this Certification is self-regulated.
Any additional information requested for a suggested practice must be filled out completely to receive point(s) for that practice.
In furtherance of its efforts to educate and encourage members to practice law in ways that are environmentally safe and sustainable, the Go Green Committee may add, delete or modify the list of suggested green business practices from time to time, but will not modify the Certification From fro a particular year after January 1 of the certification year.
Certification must be submitted to the Indianapolis Bar Association by October 14 for recognition at the IndyBar's annual Recognition Luncheon. Fill out the online application today!
