The weather is heating up and so is this hot topic! This program will address recent developments in state and federal legislation and case law addressing issues related to the passage of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (“RFRA”) and LGBT issues.

The program will address recent developments in state and federal legislation and case law concerning issues related to the passage of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (“RFRA”) and LGBT issues.  This will include a discussion on the case recently filed by the EEOC alleging sexual orientation is unlawful sex discrimination under Title VII,  EEOC v. Pallet Cos. (D. Md. Mar. 1, 2016).  Likewise, the program will address the recent legislation passed by the state of North Carolina known as the transgender bathroom law.  The program will particularly interest attorneys in the Employment and Labor, and Government Attorneys sections.  The presenters will be Marl R. Waterfill,a partner at Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP, and Craig W. Wiley, a principal at Jackson Lewis, P.C.
