Welcome to Tip of the Week! Judicial officers will offer a tip each week for members of the Family Law Section. Feel free to send suggestions to Mag. Kim Mattingly at

By Mag. Kimberly Dean Mattingly, Marion Superior Court

Tip of the Week is on Fall Break this week, but some items are too hot to wait:

  1. Check out this article on our Blog by Elisabeth Edwards. Elisabeth is far too professional to use the article’s best title: “How to ensure your mediation does not suck, and how to ensure that your mediator does not hate you.”
  2. It is time again for nominations for the Family Law Section Award! Please nominate a deserving colleague by November 20 at this link. The award will be given at the Family Law Section Holiday Party, which is scheduled for December 6, at 5 p.m. at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. The party will follow the Family Law Summit, a 4 hour, advanced CLE that will take place at the IndyBar offices from 1 to 5 p.m. Get more information on both events here.

Stay tuned for a new tip next week!
