Marion County Circuit Court, Paternity Division, is accepting resumes for a full-time Commissioner. This position will be assigned to the Paternity Division for five (5) days per week.
When assigned to the Marion County Circuit Court Paternity Division, the job duties will include: reviewing and ruling on paternity family law motions; presiding at hearings and bench trials involving paternity family law matters, including protective orders. All duties will be on the Paternity Division’s private cases and not the Title IV-D Prosecutor Enforcement Cases. The Court uses the Odyssey case management system and participates in electronic filing of cases.
Applicants must be admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana with five years of practice and be in good standing with the Indiana Supreme Court. Marion County residency is required. In addition, applicants must have experience in family law issues regarding custody, parenting time, child support, emancipation, tax exemptions, protective orders, jurisdiction, relocation, change of venue and third party custody. It is a plus if applicants have prior trial experience in the area of domestic relations generally and paternity matters in particular. It is also a plus if applicants have proven computer experience at a minimum in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
Salary: $115, 310.00 annually. This salary is non-negotiable. Full County benefits are available for this position, including, but not limited to: medical, dental and vision insurances; PERF participation; benefit leave and short term disability time off banks; paid holidays; paid parking.
