From the Marion County Clerk's Office:
Effective 4/1/14, the Marion County Clerk’s Office will no longer accept EFT payments for child support. That is, no direct payments from bank accounts. We are doing this for a number of reasons. First, we have seen a decrease in payees utilizing this option. Second, the instances of insufficient funds or other payment problems has risen significantly. This creates an accounting nightmare for our office, as well as payment issues for the custodial and/or non-custodial parent. Third, these accounting problems often result in additional work for the Judges/courts as we require additional or modified Orders to resolve the issues. Our office still accepts payments in-person, online, by mail and by phone. Additionally, the State continues to take payroll deductions.
