Webinar Opportunity: Military Divorce and Intimate Partner Violence

On Monday, January 12, 2015 the Battered Women's Justice Project will provide a webinar on military divorce and its intersection with intimate partner violence. The webinar will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and Brent Tanner of Sullivan and Tanner P.A. will present.

The prorgram will answer the following questions: What is the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act and how does it apply to family law proceedings involving military personnel? What custody and visitation issues are raised when one or both spouses are serving on active duty? What are the different methods of obtaining family support - both via the civilian justice system and military commands?  What are the civil and criminal remedies for IPV in state law? How does intimate partner violence affect the division of military pensions?
