The first Estate Planning & Administration Section CLE program of 2014, "Can My Private Foundation Satisfy My Personal Pledge? A Primer on the Private Foundation Excise Taxes," will be held on Friday, February 26. This program will address excise taxes, unrelated business income and other rules applicable to charities and how they interplay with a client's estate plans.
Ginan Giacone of Ice Miller LLP will serve as the speaker for this program. Ms. Giacone primarily focuses her practice on gift, estate and trust taxation, estate planning, estate and trust administration and charitable giving. In that role, she regularly works with clients on a wide range of issues involving federal estate, gift and generation skipping tax planning, succession planning, preservation of wealth and charitable planning. Ms. Giacone also advises tax-exempt organizations, including both public charities and family foundations, regarding corporate governance and tax matters, advanced planned giving techniques and endowment management. She earned her B.S. from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and her J.D. from Vanderbilt University. Ms. Giacone is an Indiana Certied Estate Planning and Administration Specialist.
