The IndyBar Environmental Law Section and the IndyBar Indy Attorneys Network are teaming up with Indy Parks to help at Indy Urban Acres! Join fellow IndyBar members on Friday, August 25 from 9 a.m. to noon to plant and harvest produce that goes straight to local food pantries through a partnership with Gleaners Food Bank. Give back to your local community while networking with your colleagues!
We had a solid turnout last year – but we would love to see more of you at this year’s outing. Please RSVP today! To sign up, send an email to Colin Connor at email@example.com.
Indy Urban Acres (located at 7700 E 21st St., Indianapolis) will provide gloves and all the tools we need, but please wear closed-toes shoes (preferably boots or tennis shoes) and long pants. It will be a great opportunity to learn more about this terrific organization, get to know some of your fellow members better, and to help out a great cause! We look forward to seeing you there!
About Indy Urban Acres:
Indy Urban Acres is an 8-acre organic farm that donates 100% of the fresh fruits and vegetables harvested to local food pantries through a partnership with Gleaners Food Bank. Since 2011, Indy Urban Acres has grown into a multi-disciplinary farm that provides food equality for low-income families, educates thousands of youth through tours and farm-to-plate workshops, provides community engagement to hundreds of volunteers and groups, teaches teens valuable job skills, and helps improve Indy's food system.
Through the support of Indiana University Health, The Glick Fund, Indianapolis Power & Light, and CLIF Bar Family Foundation, Indy Urban Acres has provided more than 30,000 pounds of fresh produce to Hoosiers through Gleaners Food Bank. Read about Indy Urban Acres Farm here.
