The EPA recently announced an $8.2 billon proposed budget for fiscal year 2017, which runs from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017. The agency's proposed budget justification reflects the EPA's five goals: addressing climate change/air quality, protecting waters, cleaning up communities/sustainable development, chemical safety and overall compliance enforcement. The EPA allocated about 45 percent of its spending plan to water protection initiatives. The details can be found here.
