Each year, the Criminal Justice Section presents the Gil Berry Award to a deserving member of our legal community. We do our best to turn the spotlight on one of the many non-attorney professionals who are an essential part of our profession each day.  It is easy to forget the countless hardworking people who make our jobs easier and keep the wheels of justice turning. From bailiffs, court reporters, interpreters, sheriff's deputies, paralegals, secretaries and many others, without these hardworking non-attorney employees, our system simply would not work.

The Gil Berry Award is a way for us to recognize those hardworking individuals who are too often the unsung heroes of the profession. Please take a moment to nominate one of the many hardworking people for the Gil Berry Award so that we can recognize them for the indispensable role they play in the court system. Past winners have included paralegals, bailiffs, sheriff's deputies and many others. You can nominate a deserving candidate here.
