Can you believe that we are already in the month of August? The Criminal Justice Section is proud of the work that has been done this year in providing value to its members.
Thanks to a generous donation from Celeste Berry, wife of the late Gil Berry, the Criminal Justice Section was able to send three attorneys to their first ever Bench Bar Conference, all expenses paid. Michelle Keesling, one of the recipients, recalls her first experience in an article here.
So far this year, our CLE calendar has been full and with significant, substantive material and subjects. We have already this year had a very well-attended Meet the Judges event at the Rathskeller (see photos here) and will be pairing with the Indy Attorneys Network for At the Bar with the Bench. This event is your best chance to meet trial and appellate judges in a less formal setting. The event will take place August 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tomlinson Tap Room in the Historic City Market. Register for the event here.
Finally, the Criminal Justice Section is excited to be hosting a Member Recruitment Party in October. You will not want to miss this event! There will be details discussed of a New Member Scholarship Award that will be provide young attorneys with the chance to win free membership into the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Criminal Justice Section for two years! It's a great opportunity. Keep an eye out on the events calendar for details.

I wish the best to you all for the remainder of the year to come.
