Take a minute to read about the communications chair of our executive committee, Andrew Thompson, Thompson Law Office!

Q: Where do you currently practice and for how long have you practiced?

A: I've had my own solo practice, the Thompson Law Office for the past seven (7) years. Overall I've practiced for 26 years now.

Q: What is your background as a business law practice section attorney?

A: I joined the business law section when I moved back downtown three years ago. My clients are mostly small businesses and small business owners. I've handled a wide range of commercial and business litigation, but I enjoy planning the future and working on funding and acquisition deals for my clients.

Q: What are you most excited about for the Business Law Section?

A: Candidly, I'm excited to see how many younger attorneys are stepping up within our section and taking the reins of leadership. Our section has a bright future with the talent on the Executive Committee, and throughout the IndyBar.

Q: What has been the most surprising thing you’ve learned in your years as an attorney?

There is always a new and interesting legal challenge ahead, no matter how long you've practiced.

Q: What has been your proudest moment as an attorney?

Building a successful solo practice - as hard as it is, it's been tremendously rewarding.

Q: What is your favorite piece of advice?

A: Approach every day with the attitude of Mr. Cub, Ernie Banks: "Let's play two!"

Q: What type of community service or philanthropy do you engage in?

  •  Community Action of Great Indianapolis
  • 16 Park - New Star Ministries outreach
  • Autism Society of Indiana
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • Alzheimer's Association of Central Indiana
  • I also ran for Congress in 2016

At present, I'm not serving on the board of any of these and I'm looking for new board service opportunities.

Q: What would people be surprised to learn about you?

A: Plenty, I'm sure!
