Coming up on August 24, the Appellate Practice Section is proud to present U.S. Supreme Court: A Review (and Preview) of Recent and Upcoming Cases, featuring Jane Dall Wilson, an active appellate leader in Indianapolis. For those who've attended in the past, you already know that Jane always makes an interesting an informative presentation. It's not to late to register, so reserve your spot now!
On October 11, 2017, the section will host its annual Appellate Roundtable and Reception. This year’s event will feature Justice Geoffrey Slaughter and Judge Michael Barnes. There will be a reception following the program. Please plan to join us for this popular annual event! Mark your calendar and keep and eye on the IndyBar website for registration information, available soon.
The section is currently accepting applications for the Jill Ellis Scholarship to attend the Appellate Judges Education Institute 2017 Summit from November 2 through November 5 in Long Beach, CA. Each year, Indiana is well-represented at the Summit by jurists and staff attorneys from the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court, as well as practicing appellate lawyers. At least one scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $1,500 and will cover the conference registration fee as well as a portion of travel and lodging expenses. Go here to access the application. The deadline for applications is quickly approaching on September 15, 2017!
