A retirement celebration for Justice Robert D. Rucker will take place on Monday, May 8 at 12:30 p.m. EDT in the Supreme Court Courtroom. The celebration will be webcast at courts.in.gov. Justice Rucker is Indiana’s 105th Supreme Court justice. He will step down from the bench on May 12, 2017 after 26 years of service. He was appointed in 1991 to the Court of Appeals and then appointed to the Supreme Court in 1999.

During his career, he authored more than 1,200 opinions and served with 31 appellate judges. A full biography and high-resolution photograph can be found at courts.in.gov/citc/2834.htm.

On April 19, the Judicial Nominating Commission selected the Hon. Vicki Carmichael, the Hon. Christopher Goff, and the Hon. Matthew Kincaid as the nominees named to the Governor to fill the vacancy.
