From an Inndiana Supreme Court recent press release:
Indiana Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush will address the Governor and a joint session of the Indiana General Assembly for the annual State of the Judiciary. The formal update on the work of the judicial branch will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. EST in the chamber of the Indiana House of Representatives.
The Chief Justice is required to provide Indiana lawmakers with an update on the "condition of the courts" according to Article 7, Section 3, of the Indiana Constitution. The 2016 address will be Chief Justice Rush's second State of the Judiciary. "A Constitution Powerful in its Simplicity, Clear in its Mandate" will focus on progress with court technology including e-filing, the growth of problem-solving courts, the courts' response to Indiana’s drug crisis, initiatives to help children and families, and honoring a constitutional scholar.
Trial and appellate court judges from across the state wear traditional black robes for the event. Appellate court judges are escorted by members of the General Assembly to the House of Representatives for the joint session.
There is limited seating available. However, the address will be webcast live at courts.in.gov. Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations (IPBS) will also air the address on stations across the state.
