Who was William Rehnquist?
He was a man who loved wagering on anything from snowfall totals, elections or the more traditional sporting event. He was a man who had a wonderful sense of humor. He didn’t have a crystal ball, but he uncannily predicted how the practice of law would fundamentally change long before a cottage industry of consultants formed to tell lawyers the same thing. He also happened to be a Justice of the United States Supreme Court for over 13 years and the Chief Justice for over 19 years under eight different presidents.
This is a man who many knew of, but not many knew in the way that attendees of this event will get the chance to. Remembering Rehnquist, a social reception and reflection, will give attendees the opportunity to hear about Rehnquist's life straight from his only nephew, Sam Laurin of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP. Laurin will share stories about Rehnquist that have nothing to do with judicial philosophy or Supreme Court decisions – in other words, this will be an unprecedented and entertaining reflection on the life of Rehnquist that you don’t want to miss.
