By Elodie Meuser, The Mediation Option

On May 19, Senior Deputy Prosecutor David Morris, of the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Child Support Division, will present an hour-long CLE regarding the latest changes to the Indiana Child Support Guidelines. For anyone calculating child support, it is imperative that they understand the changes to these guidelines.

David will highlight the important language added to and deleted from the guidelines and the commentary and how those additions and deletions affect support calculations. He will also explore how the new language creates additional requirements for inclusion in orders containing support obligations.

In addition, David will also illuminate the gaps, gray areas and problems that still exist within the guidelines. Knowing these issues will help mediators show the parties where there may be some room to negotiate in their case.
