The IndyBar ADR Section Executive Committee is pleased to announce that we are hosting our second annual Spring Paternity Court Mediation Day.
Our Spring Mediation Day will be on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the office of Faegre Baker Daniels (300 N. Meridian Street). Through Mediation Day, we provide a service to Paternity Court and our community by volunteering our time to mediate several screened cases for litigants who qualify for modest means mediation. Faegre Baker Daniels has generously volunteered its downtown office to provide ample conference facilities for this endeavor.
To make this event a success, we are looking for ten volunteers who are registered domestic mediators and have experience mediating paternity cases. Judge Kern in Paternity Court is screening non-domestic violence cases for us and we will have ten cases to mediate on April 15th. Each volunteer mediator would agree to mediate one case starting at either 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. Volunteers should bring a laptop to assist with drafting agreements. Lunch will be provided. There will also be a judicial officer on site to approve the mediated agreements.
We hope you will set aside April 15th to volunteer for this fun and rewarding project! If you wish to volunteer, please email me at parmstrong@mede8.com with a desired start time (9 a.m. or 1 p.m.). Once we have enough mediators, we will follow up with you directly with greater details.
Thank you!
