Marion Superior Court Seeks Court Administrator

Marion Superior Court is seeking a Court Administrator.  See below for details and application instructions.

Under the jurisdiction of the Judges of the Marion Superior Court and the Judge of the Circuit Court, the Court Administrator performs administrative responsibilities of the non-judicial activities of the Marion Circuit and Superior Courts. This position is responsible for supervising personnel and operations of Senior Staff of Court Administration, including the Director of Finance, Director of Human Resources, Director of Court Operations, Chief Technology Officer, Information Service Manager and Facility Coordinator; developing accountability measures and research programs to better utilize collected data to develop improved management techniques and to evaluate cost effectiveness of ongoing Court services and programs; conducting studies relating to the business and administration of the courts and prepares appropriate recommendations for more expeditious disposition of the business of the court; working with the Director of Finance to prepare and maintain an operating budget for the Court; serving as the Court's representative on all City/County Criminal Justice Committees and working groups.  The Court Administrator represents the court as a liaison to other Courts, local Bar Associations, civic groups, news media and other private and public groups having a reasonable interest in the administration of the Courts and works with developing strategic and tactical planning, research, program development and evaluation, and statistical compilation and analysis for the Courts.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years as a Professional Administrator, preferably in Court Administration (a Law Degree or a Masters Degree in Public Administration, Business, or Criminal Justice may be substituted for one year experience) in principles and practices related to the Court system and Justice system, and knowledge of the judicial process.  Supervision experience of upper management level staff required.  Excellent organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication skills essential.  Proven ability to interact with diverse groups of individuals.
