Some Civil Litigation Suspended in U.S. District Court Due to Shutdown

On October 7, 2013, Chief Judge Richard L. Young of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana signed an order suspending much of the civil litigation in which the United States is a party due to the recent government shutdown and resulting lack of appropriations.

The mission of the Indianapolis Bar Association has been, since 1878, to serve our members, promote justice and enhance the legal profession. Always with this in mind, we hope this is resolved as soon as possible to restore access to justice to our members and to the public at large.
