Realize your potential. Make a difference. Create impact. Be a Bar Leader.

The application period for the 2011-2012 Bar Leader Series is now  open. The deadline to apply is June 20, 2011. Additional information on the series can be found here, and the application can be downloaded here.

The Bar Leader Series is the IndyBar's leadership development program for young attorneys. This fast-track series empowers participants to make the most of their innate talents, while emphasizing the importance of service to the community.

Committed to cultivating the next generation of leaders, the program was created in 2003 as the outgrowth of the IndyBar's Task Force on Leadership Development and provides  25 IndyBar member attorneys in their 3rd to 10th year of practice with an opportunity to meet other attorneys in an environment where they can grow both professionally and personally. This program and these students are key to keeping the Bar's leadership strong and maintaining the Bar's value to the legal community into the future.

The Series will begin with an Ice Breaker reception on Thursday, August 25, and a one and one-half day retreat at Waycross Camp and Conference Center in Southern Indiana, September 15-16, 2011. The Series continues with monthly presentations for an entire afternoon for a nine-month period on a broad range of topics presented by local legal, political and business leaders. Topics include, but are not limited to, understanding your community, challenges facing your community, the profession, business and practice development, foundations of local and national government, and public safety. Class members will receive approximately 10 CLE credit hours during the 9 month series.

The previous eight Bar Leader Series Classes have included attorneys from small, medium and large law firms, city and state government, as well as corporate in-house counsel and judicial law clerks.
