IndyBar Receives Thank You Letters from Soldiers

Two Indiana soldiers serving abroad have sent the Indianapolis Bar Association thank you letters expressing gratitude for care packages received through the bar's Lawyers Care project. To view the letters, click here.

An annual project spearheaded by the IndyBar Young Lawyers Division, the Lawyers Care project brings together members of the legal community to collect and donate items for care packages sent to Indiana troops serving abroad. The 2010 project--dubbed "Soles for Soldiers"--focused on collecting foot-care supplies for the troops, which are imperative for the soldiers' overall health.

First Lieutenant Bart Lomont said, "I can honestly say it is the little things in life and the friendly reminders of home that keep us motivated to accomplish the tasks we came here to do." Major Jeremy Gulley commented, "I will be sharing the items with my fellow soldiers and with the children of local villages we visit. Please give my sincere thanks to the members of the Association who support us."

Both Lomont and Gulley are serving in Afghanistan with the Indiana National Guard 3-19th Agribusiness Development Team.
