Denise Bowlby Named IndyBar Paralegal of the Year

The Indianapolis Bar Association is proud  to recognize Denise Bowlby of Faegre Baker Daniels as the association's Paralegal of the Year for 2013. Ms. Bowlby will be recognized for this honor at the IndyBar Paralegal Appreciation Luncheon, to be held Thursday, May 16 from noon to 1 p.m. at Ruth's Chris.

Ms. Bowlby joined the Indianapolis Bar Association in 1993, the first year that IndyBar membership was offered to paralegals. She served as a charter member of the IndyBar Paralegal Committee and has since helped to organize various significant events for the bar. Ms. Bowlby is also active in the Indiana Paralegal Association and has served as the Family Law Section Chair for that organziation for several several years.

In addition to her professional career as a family law paralegal at Faegre Baker Daniels, Ms. Bowlby has served as a faculty member in multiple paralegal seminars and authored several articles in the Legal Assistant Today magazine. She also currently serves on the Marian University Paralegal Studies Program Academic Advisory Board and Development Committee, and teaches a course to prospective paralegals at the university.

Ms. Bowlby's nomination notes, "She is a great role model internally for paralegals in our firm. She stays focused on her practice, her clients and what is needed to get her work done. Her work ethic is strong, she understands that everyone has their respective roles and appreciates the cohesion necessary for the legal teams and the operations teams to work together in the work environment. She is a great colleague and is liked by all who work with her."
