Highlights for the 2014 conference include:
New for 2014: The Practical Practice Track
Bench Bar has long been known as the best opportunity for litigators and judges to mix and mingle in a casual, fun environment. Now in its 21st year, the conference has widened its appeal with the inaugural “Practical Practice” track planned for the 2014 conference.
The Practical Practice Track is designed to introduce new lawyers or newly solo lawyers to the basics of operating a firm and will also highlight several common solo practice areas, including estate planning, family law and criminal law.
Kick Off the Fun Early: Thursday Evening Dinner at The Phoenix
Growing in size each year, the Thursday evening kick-off dinner is quickly becoming one of the most popular events at Bench Bar. Visit a unique historical landmark in Cincinnati as we dine at The Phoenix. This casual evening is free of any official program, making it a great opportunity to mingle with other conference goers.
Hit the Links!
After a cold, snowy winter, it’s likely that hitting the links will stay at the top of many dedicated golfers’ to-do lists throughout the summer. Organized by veteran Bench Bar golfer Bob York and sponsored by Wilson Kehoe & Winingham, the Bench Bar Golf Tournament promises to be the perfect opportunity to tee up a great Bench Bar experience. Golfers will enjoy a day at Golf Digest magazine’s award-winning Blue Ash Golf Course. Feeling competitive? Cash prizes (and bragging rights) are in store for victorious foursomes. Not a pro? Never fear—golfers of all ability levels are welcome!
Back for More: The In-House Counsel Track
After rave reviews in its inaugural year, the In-House Counsel Track is back for 2014. This programming proves that Bench Bar is for more than just litigators: get top notch CLE while making valuable business connections with a diverse array of attendees!
Lighten Up & Laugh at Friday Lunch
Drew Hastings, our featured luncheon speaker, bills himself as: “Comedian. Farmer. Mayor. Not necessarily in that order.” Learn more about Drew here and get ready to enjoy observational humor and commentary on American modern life at over lunch with your colleagues.
Is That Your Final Answer?
After making its Bench Bar debut in 2012, Trivia Night is back again! If the packed rooms and stiff competition over the last two years are any indication, 2014’s rendition will truly be a can’t-miss feature of the Bench Bar Conference. Trivia emcees James Bell and Adam Christensen will have participants laughing as they battle it out to claim the title of IBF Trivia Champions and the traveling Thinker trophy. Plus, all of this fun benefits a tremendously worthy cause—the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. You can’t lose!
