INTEREST GROUPS
Interest Groups
The IndyBar offers its members more than 20 interest groups representing both practice areas and demographics, in addition to various committees that are responsible for a wide spectrum of IndyBar initiatives, programs and day-to-day association operations. Membership in sections and divisions and involvement on committees offers invaluable opportunities for networking, practice development and education.
IndyBar Sections
Sections within the Indianapolis Bar Association represent a variety of practice areas. Sections are responsible for planning and presenting education programming, spearheading initiatives in both the legal community and beyond, providing resources and information for their section members and much more. All sections are governed by specific bylaws and are managed by an executive committee.
Section membership is open to all IndyBar members at a rate of $25 per group, with the exception of the Family Law section, the Government Practice section, the Appellate Practice section and the Real Estate & Land Use section, which are participating in the bar's pilot CLE Plus program this year--dues are $60 for these groups, but include all of the section's one hour brownbag CLE programs at no additional cost.

IndyBar Divisions
IndyBar Divisions represent four demographic groups within the association. Like sections, divisions are also governed by bylaws, managed by executive committees and responsible for developing programming, resources and initiatives on behalf of their division members. Senior Counsel Division (25 years or more of practice or 55 years of age or older)
Young Lawyers Division (36 years old or less to 8 years of practice)
