Update on the Office of Civil Rights' Enforcement of the HIPAA Privacy & Security Regulations
Continuing Legal Education
The seminar features an explanation of federal regulations related to enforcement of the HIPAA privacy rule and possible changes in the future. Additional topics for discussion include issues related to reporting privacy breaches to the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) for under and over 500 persons effected, the current climate at OCR related to its "enforcement activities" (considering recent large fines levied) and new educational efforts being undertaken by the OCR.
