Estate Recovery and Other Current Issues in Medicaid
Continuing Legal Education
Estate recovery issues are becoming more critical for Medicaid applicants and recipients as the state plans to contract with attorneys to pursue estate recovery, even against non-probate transfers.
This seminar covers the basic rules of Medicaid estate recovery and the tools available for minimizing the state’s efforts to recover against the estate of a Medicaid recipient. The faculty also gives their tips for planning, including the use of wills with special needs trusts and powers of attorney which expand the authority of the attorney in fact in the Medicaid planning area.
Attorneys in Indiana can currently receive up to six hours of credit per three year educational period through approved distance education activities. If you attended the live version of the program you cannot receive credit for viewing the program again online.
