Business Law Skills Series: Issues Relating to Hedge Funds, Private Equity Funds and Venture Capital
Continuing Legal Education
With the current uncertain state of the economy and lagging assets prices, alternative investments, including investments in hedge funds, private equity funds, and venture capital, are more important than ever to investors and investee portfolio companies. Alternative investments typically seek absolute, non-correlated returns which frequently out-perform the broader markets. However, alternatives also present legal risks and challenges for investors, investee companies, and counsel.
This program highlights the principal areas of regulation and legal risk associated with alternative investments and describes the more popular structures of alternative investment vehicles.
