"I Didn't Know That Was Misconduct!": Mistakes and Misconceptions in Managing Your Law Practice That Could Land You Before the Disciplinary Commission

Continuing Legal Education

September 3, 2014 Wednesday 12:00pm - 1:00pm

G. Michael Witte, a well-regarded former judge and the current Executive Secretary of the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission, will present common, overlooked and surprising situations pertaining to law practice management that can land you in front of the Disciplinary Commission (not in a good way).

Billing practices, pursuing unpaid bills and the handling of confidential client information, along with many other aspects of running a law practice, will be covered.

Young Lawyers often are untrained in the day-to-day business aspects of managing a law firm (e.g., billing clients, pursuing unpaid bills, and transmitting and storing confidential client information). This program will help to teach young lawyers what to do and what NOT to do in managing their law practice.

Please note: lunch is not included with this seminar. Brown bag lunches are welcome. Carryout is also available from the Labor District Cafe on the second floor of our building. Online ordering is available here.
