End of Life Care and Probate 101
Continuing Legal Education
June 26, 2013 Wednesday 1:00pm - 3:00pm
This program is designed to help lawyers who are willing to advise in-facility hospice patients with end of life legal issues on a pro bono basis, but may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with estate planning practices or hospice procedures.
Dr. Gregory Gramelspacher, Director of Wishard Palliative Care, will begin with an overview of hospice work and the ethical considerations that need to be taken with people in the final stage of their life. Attendees will learn how to learn how to communicate comfortably with their clients and learn to thoroughly ferret out and address the legal issues at hand. Larry Lawhead, Partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, will spend an hour presenting the typically requested estate planning forms and teach attendees how to prepare such documents quickly and thoroughly in a limited time frame.
Attorneys who volunteer for the IndyBar Hospice Program can attend this seminar at no cost. For more information about the IndyBar Hospice Program, click here.
