How to Become a More Resilient Lawyer & Get an Hour of Ethics
Continuing Legal Education
April 9, 2013 Tuesday 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Have a short fuse? Practice of law got you down? Would you like to pick up some skills, habits and an attitude that will make you a more resilient lawyer or judge? Attend this seminar and get your ethics credit with Loretta Oleksy who will talk about these issues and more as she describes the role of the Indiana Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program (JLAP), including what to do when you have an impaired lawyer in your office.
A legal career can be difficult and stressful. Lawyers frequently suffer from fatigue, stress-related physical, mental and emotional illnesses, chronic burnout, depression and substance abuse. Ms. Oleksy discuss how to be a more resilient lawyer regardless of what life throws at you. By the end of this session you will learn to identify ways to cope and function at a higher level regardless of what the economy does, whether your firm or workplace goes through a painful reorganization, whether you have sick family members or what new responsibilities or goals you take on.
Lunch will be provided.
