Don’t miss the eight luncheon CLEs in the 2013 Litigation Skills Series! This series is designed to hone your skills on each component of the trial process with practice pointers and advocacy tips from experienced trial lawyers. Get all of your annually required CLE credits, including 1 hour of ethics, at the one hour luncheon CLEs held at the IndyBar. This is a great opportunity to network with litigators and judges!
Plan ahead and register for the entire series by Feb. 13, 2013, and enjoy a discount of $40! Not sure if you can attend every session? Register for the full series and send a substitute in your place if a conflict arises.

Attendees can also register for individual sessions rather than the full series by browsing through the IndyBar Event Calendar and selecting the chosen seminar for online registration. The price for individual sessions is $45 per seminar for members/$90 for non-members.
2013 Litigation Skills Series: all sessions will take place at the IndyBar Education Center and include 1.0 General Credit, unless otherwise noted.
February 13: Voir Dire--This session will help you improve your voir dire process by focusing on the purpose, formation, and techniques involved in a successful voir dire as a vital part of a litigation practice.
March 13: Opening Statements--This seminar will cover tips and techniques for delivering a powerful opening statement, which many experts believe is the most important part of the trial.
April 10: Direct & Cross Exam--Few things are more important at trial than witness testimony, and as lawyers you need to know how to elicit the information that is important to your case. Attend this program for insights on the art and science of examining witnesses-both friendly and hostile-at trial.
May 8: Utilizing Technology in the Courtroom--With the proliferation of smart phones, IPads, tablet computers and e-readers, today’s jurors are becoming very technologically savvy. This seminar will provide practical tips for using technology in trial, such as PowerPoint presentations; storing and presenting documentary evidence from tablet computers, video testimony and electronic timelines. The topic will also cover aspects useful to litigators including foundational requirements for such electronic evidence and logistical concerns to be address prior to starting trial.
August 14: Evidence--This seminar will address the persuasive use of exhibits and proper admission of evidence at trial, including effective tips from the perspectives of the litigator and the judge.
September 11: Ethics--Attend this program to avoid falling prey to ethical situations commonly encountered by litigators. This session includes 1.0 Ethics credit.
October 9: Experts--This session will address the use of experts at trial to properly lay the foundation and admit expert opinions into evidence; as well as effective cross examination of your opponent’s expert.
November 13: Judges Roundtable--This popular program will feature an interactive panel of judges who will discuss the latest trends in litigation and commonly encountered problems.
