Best Practices and Tips from the Bench
November 20, 2012 Tuesday 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Judge Magnus-Stinson and Judge Tinder offer tips and best practices from the perspective of two judicial officers. Together, Judge Tinder and Judge Magnus-Stinson have sat in the Marion Superior, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Judicial Circuit.
Their presentation will focus on practical tips and best practices for both young and experienced lawyers. The judges will provide insight into what is expected of attorneys with regard to preparation, oral and written advocacy, candor with the tribunal and legal skill. The judges will also identify the types of practices (obvious or not) which might harm an attorneys’ advocacy and/or reputation.
This seminar is intended as a primer for young attorneys and as a reminder for more experienced ones as to where we as attorneys should set the bar for our own practice.
