Learn and Ride: Medical Legal Partnership and The HandleBar Bike Social
Continuing Legal Education
August 19, 2014 Tuesday 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) is a health care delivery model that improves the health and wellbeing of low-income and other vulnerable populations (such as children, veterans and the elderly) by addressing unmet legal and social needs and removing legal barriers that impede access to care.
Join us first for an hour of all things MLP. This panel discussion will provide an overview of the exemplary MLP work being done in Indianapolis, the types of cases that MLP typically attorneys deal with, examples of how law can serve as preventive health care and details about how you can become more involved.
Panelists include Anna Kirkman, Associate Counsel and MLP Director at Eskenazi Health; Isaac “Ike” Willett, Partner and Pro Bono MLP Attorney at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP; Abhishek “Jay” Chaudery, Director of the Midtown Mental Health/Indiana Legal Services MLP; and Adam Mueller, MLP Attorney at Indiana Legal Services. Amy Lewis Gilbert, Indiana Unversity School of Medicine will moderate the panel.
