Guardian Ad Litem Training for Juvenile Delinquent Cases
Continuing Legal Education
November 1, 2013 Friday 9:00am - 4:00pm
This program is designed to train lawyers who are interested in serving as a Guardian Ad Litem in Juvenile Delinquent cases, but may be unfamiliar with the procedures and expectations. Training includes role description and responsibilities, delinquency law and procedure as well as recognition of child abuse and child development as required by the 2012 statute. A question and answer session with the Juvenile Court Judges will be held over lunch. Make a positive impact on a minor and you could prevent them from entering the criminal justice system as an adult!
Attorneys are expected to accept two pro bono Guardian Ad Litem cases after completing the training.
