The Indianapolis Legal Aid Society, Inc. (ILAS) represents low-income individuals on any non-criminal, non-fee-generating legal matter. ILAS also sponsors a special project that assists seniors with housing problems.ILAS is a private, non-profit community supported law office founded in 1941 to provide lawyers to residents of Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan and Shelby Counties who are unable to pay for a private lawyer. Staff attorneys may provide advice or legal representation on civil matters such as marital dissolution, custody dispute, child support problems, adoption, guardianship, public benefits, debtor-creditor disputes, landlord-tenant disputes, or other non-criminal matters.For more information about ILAS, visit the agency website.
