My Client is Charged with OVWI: What are the Driver's License Ramifications? (CRJ234)
This seminar will cover two significant areas of traffic law: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OVWI) and Habitual Traffic Violators (HTV). The course will present the pre-conviction and post-conviction options available to courts when considering suspending the driving privileges of a defendent charged with OVWI. Additionally, information will be presented on what offenses qualify for determining if an indiviual is an HTV, and what combination offenses lead to the various suspension lengths.

Speaker Info: Scott A. DeVries became the general counsel for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles in May 2007. Prior to that, Mr. DeVries was a master commissioner in Marion Superior Court and a deputy prosecutor in Marion County. He earned his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis.
